Connect with
your community
Start by finding your zone
Hundreds of volunteers have stepped up to represent blocks of homes in their neighborhoods. These are called zones. Use the map to search for your address and find your zone.

Contact your Neighborhood Captain
Volunteer captains are available throughout much of Altadena to ensure everyone has a local point of contact for support and information. Click on your zone and use the information provided to contact your Neighborhood Captain directly.
Volunteer to support your neighbors
Not every area has a volunteer captain! If there isn't a captain in your area yet, consider registering to represent your neighborhood.
Why participate?
Neighborhood-led recovery helps people stay connected, informed, and supported long after the crisis ends. When blocks organize together, communities grow stronger, more connected, and more resilient over time.

Support that's shared, not isolated
Lean on one another instead of going it alone. The network helps make sure care, information, and resources are easier to find and easier to share.

Connection that lasts beyond the crisis
Even after the emergency fades from the headlines, the relationships remain. Staying connected helps the whole block feel steadier, more confident, and better prepared for whatever comes next.

More voice in what happens next
Neighbors have a say in how recovery unfolds by working together to decide what matters most for their block and their community.

The #1 Indicator
of a community’s ability to recover after a disaster is the density and strength of its social networks.
